VIDEO: How to Add a Pop of Color to Eye Makeup
You may be thinking to yourself, “green eyeshadow? No way!” But it can be a gorgeous look to try this summer. Makeup expert Sabrina Bedrani shows us how to incorporate a little color in our makeup.
Some of the hottest colors of the season–greens, blues and purples, are showing up in makeup as well as clothing. In the clip above, Sabrina shows Heidi Klum how to wear a vibrant green shadow on her lids.
Sabrina’s tips for wearing bright eye makeup:
Use an eyeshadow primer
After you use the primer as a base (which will help eyeshadow last longer), start by applying the lightest color of shadow all over the lid.
Apply the darker shade to the crease of the eye in a “V” shape.
Don’t forget to blend!
Blend away harsh edges by starting at the outer corner and blending inward, using a makeup brush to blend the shadow.
Make it sexier
To add intensity, line the top and bottom lashes with black pencil.
Round it out
Apply the lightest shade to the inner corner of the eyes to brighten up the eye.
Don’t forget the mascara
Add a lot for a dramatic look.
Finish things up
To finish the look, apply eyeliner to the inside of the lower lash line to make eyes pop. Now, you’re ready to hit the town!
